How can I build a cell phone signal booster?
I would like to build a cell phone signal booster. This is a science project that I will do with my daughter and my reception using Verizon Wireless is terrible in my home office. I want to set up an antenna for my roof that can capture the signals and then have a booster (amplifier?) increase the strength of the signal in my home office. There is a Verizon cell tower 2 miles from my house. I would be interested in having specific instructions on assembling the system and info on the technical issues (signal attenuation, for example). Thanks for your help.

buy one already built for about $200,the problem with building your own is that you have to consider the noise floor you are going to create, if that noise floor of yours rises above the noise created by the cell tower(s), you will effectively shut them down.then the phone cops will be at your door with hammer and a bill for loss of revenue
